Carton Flow
  • Relatively low initial cost. Image
  • Virtually maintenance-free.
  • Highly efficient for full case and/or split case picking.
  • Saves labor costs: order pickers minimize walking, "hunting", reaching.  1 picker as productive as 3 or 4 using Static Storage.  Fewer pickers in fewer aisles require less supervision.
  • Saves floor space: uses as little as one half the floor space of Static Storage.  Multiple aisles eliminated (only requires a "load" and a "pick" aisle).
  • Automatic stock rotation: always first-in, first-out.
  • Reduces congestion: picking in front, stocking in rear, with fewer workers.  Picking and restocking can be done simultaneously.
  • Reduces product damage: product loaded once, picked once.  No "deep reaching" or moving goods to pick.  Less handling, less damage.
  • Increases inventory control: stock quantity is always visible.
  • Increases picking accuracy: more organized, compact picking area reduces picking errors.

Nedcon Carton Flow

ImageFlow racks for small goods are the ideal order picking system.  Goods (bins, cartons, totes) move under gravity along a slightly sloping roller track.

  • Ergonomic compact picking area
  • Roller tracks give enormous strength
  • Lanes can be separated
  • Goods will roll down easily and straight
  • Flow racks can also be executed in combination with pallet storage

Dura-Flo Carton Flow

ImageDura-Flo™ carton flow shelving methods featuring Freewheeler® technology. The Dura-Flo™ carton flow pre-assembled tracks are designed to fit most existing rack systems without special tools.  Now you can achieve 90% space utilization and maximum flexibility for carton size and mix without carton flow shelving system component changes.

  • Maximum space utilization from a carton flow wheeled system, up to 90% with multiple carton sizes and mix.
  • Universal connectors on each end of the carton flow rails mount on most roll-formed or structural rack beams without special tools.
  • Ultimate flexibility - instantly substitute inventory without changing your specific carton flow theory or system components.
  • Ideal pick system for manufacturing and assembly lines.
  • Superior tracking of carton flow methods compared to roller flow systems.
  • Ideal for wash-down applications.
  • Freewheeler 1.9" diameter X 1.00" wide wheel provides more surface for better package and carton support and requires virtually no maintenance.
  • Special lubrication-coated axles provide smooth carton flow rails with virtually no hang-ups.
  • No tools required to replace wheel assemblies; spring-loaded axles on carton flow rails snap into place.
  • Entry and exit brackets mount into beam connectors without tools on either Hi-mount or Lo-mount configurations.
  • Superior strength from specially designed C-channels.

Kingway Carton Flow

ImageKingway gravity flow rack is designed and manufactured to the most rigorous engineering standards.  All structural components are roll-formed, and are among the strongest and most rigid of their type in the industry.  Components are engineered to withstand heavy use and abuse, and are made of ASTM high-strenght, low-alloy, certified structural steel.

Modular design, numbered scales and precision slots allow for rapid assembly and rearrangement without tools or measuring.

Numbered Scales- With clearly numbered scales and high-quality components that easily clip in place, the system can be assembled or rearranged in a snap, without tools, by our own maintenance people.

ImageShelf Hanger Clip- This unique clip fits into a single slot in the vertical frame.  The shelf frame is then placed securely on the clip.  There are no threaded or moving parts to work with, and no tools or measuring are required for installation.

Roll Track- Heavy-duty roll track permits the movement of heavy cases at the lowest slope angle in the industry to maximize space utilization.  Tracks and guides are independently mounted, and snap into retainer tabs easily.  The roll track operates in any warehouse environment, including cooler and freezers, and requires no lubrication.

Gravity Flow Concept

ImageThe Concept- The gravity flow order selection system offers a far greater ROI than any other picking system.  This simple, effective concept uses inclined shelves equipped with roll track to move by gravity from the restocking to the picking side of the system.  No power source is required.  And because frontage per item is greatly reduced, restocking and picking can be done much faster.  In fact, one person can do the work of three or four.

The Alternatives- Conventional static shelving is relatively inexpensive and basically maintenance free.  But it is the best choice only for very slow moving merchandise.  Automated systems work well if you're storing extremely fast-moving goods in full case quantities.  However, these systems are very expensive to purchase and maintain, and are subject to frequent breakdowns.

The Kingway Solution- Gravity flow picking systems offer many of the best features of both these other methods.  They are far less costly than automated systems, and much more efficient than static shelving.  They are virtually maintenance free and allow you to rotate merchandise on a first-in, first-out basis.  In most instances, gravity flow is the most cost-effective order selection system.

Advantages

  1. The only total system - gravity flow shelves for 90% of your SKUs...static shelves for the slowest movers...pallet flow shelves for the fastest movers.
  2. Picking sequence - with three types of Kingway shelves, your goods can be organized in family groupings for the most efficient picking sequence.
  3. Interchangeable bays - as your needs change, your system can be easily changed.  Shelves are easily interchangeable and adjustable.
  4. Pallets by gravity - with pallet flow shelves and roll track, you eliminate waiting for stock replenishment.
  5. Local reserves - keep fast moving goods on ready reserve in overhead storage bays.  They accommodate all pallet sizes.
  6. Minimal floor space - gravity flow and multi-level systems enable you to achieve maximum utilization of expensive floor space.
  7. Future compatibility - all components are compatible - and will always be.  As new components and systems are introduced, you can count on them to be compatible with all installations, past and present.
